Today is the remarkable day of Ramadan and tomorrow will be the celebration of Ramadan.

During these honorable days of Ramadan, I've intended and decided that I, with God's Will, will go to Haji. I intended to go to Haji overland and also to document the journey through.

With this accessible information technology, I’m putting up this blog in a way that it could help me to achieve my intention.

For now i call it 'My Road to Mecca'. This is to explore the overland journey from Singapore to Mecca, essentially to search the Muslim communities along the journey in hope to find the beauty of the religion, which is Islam, the religion of peace. In additional, the journey will be accomplished with the pilgrimage over at Mecca during the pilgrim period.

This overland expedition promises to be a landmark event in the history of the Arts and also the Contemporary Islamic Art in the digital era of New Media. Essentially, in addition to that it is as one of the responses that represent the Muslim world in regarding with the world peace. It aims to highlight the awareness, as to proliferate the message of peace and harmony.

The journey will approximately covered six month overland from Singapore to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The countries that we will past through will be from Singapore then to Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

This journey will be documented in a form of video documentation. For every countries and city that i stopover, there we will be a search for the Muslim community. Chronologically, Mosque will be the main intention then come to school or institution and then to individual family. We will seek for permission to record and document their basic daily activities and practices. There will be an interview in regards with their daily activities and essentially their thoughts about the current situation that the Muslim community is facing globally.

Apparently, during the journey I will come across people with different races and cultures, these notion of differences will be revealed at the end of the journey where everyone come to a point with the same intention. An intention of submission to their God’s call. These is intentionally to portrait that Islam is colourful in it’s own ways and also a religion of peace.

Essentially, I appreciate those who are willing to contribute to my journey and I'm open to accept any kind of offering. For those who leave in the country that I’m passing through, I would be keen to meet up with you along the way.

Here's a link to my Road to Mecca merchandise website. I'm selling merchandise for the fundraising for the overland journey. And you may want to take a peep in my travellog, which i've planned to update it eventually.
